Set up Kudakero

About 10 minutes to install. Then make it yours at your own pace.

Before you start

Mac users: if your download opens as a folder instead of a zip file, download it again from your order page and use the .zip file, not the folder.

1. Upload the theme

In Shopify, go to Online Store → Themes. Under the theme library, click Add theme → Upload zip file and choose the Kudakero zip. Wait until the upload finishes.

The theme is added to your library unpublished, so your live store doesn't change while you set it up.

2. Activate your license

Next to Kudakero in your theme library, click Customize. Open Theme settings (the gear icon), then License. Paste your key and click Save.

The "not activated" notice disappears once a valid key is saved. One Single-store key covers one Shopify store, including all its theme copies. An Agency key covers up to five stores: paste the same key into each one.

3. Add your brand

Still in Theme settings, open Brand to add your logo and favicon, then Colors and Typography to match your style. Add your social links under Social media.

4. Add your products first

You add your own products and photos. The demo shows the layout. Shopify doesn't copy demo content into your store, so the theme shows your own products, collections and images.

5. Build your home page

The home page starts with ready-made sections. Click a section in the editor to choose its collection, products, images and text. Hide or delete the ones you don't need, and drag sections to reorder them. Every page type, like products, collections and pages, can be changed the same way from the menu at the top of the editor.

6. Preview and publish

Use the device switch at the top of the editor to check the phone layout. When you're happy, go back to Online Store → Themes, open the ⋯ menu next to Kudakero and click Publish.

Already have a store?

Your products, collections, customers and orders stay in Shopify when you change theme. Set up Kudakero unpublished, and publish it when it's ready. Your old theme stays in your library.

Updates

Your order page always has the latest version. To update, download it and upload it as a new theme. Shopify doesn't copy your settings between theme files, so set up the new copy before you publish it.
